Island Warriors Freestyle Fighting Academy is hosting another great submission grappling tournament on Sunday, February 21, 2010. This is a great opportunity for Maui's grappling community to gain valuable competition experience before heading to bigger tournaments on Oahu and on the Mainland. Registration & weigh-ins begin at 10am. There will be gi and no-gi divisions for the kids and no-gi divisions for the adults. The event will be held at the IWFF Academy. See you there!
IWFFA Grapplers Win Gold At NAGA

Congratulations to IWFFA grapplers Ronald, Emery, and Dustin for their dominating victories at Naga's 7th Annual Hawaii Grappling Championship No-Gi & Gi Tournament. NAGA's Hawaii Grappling Championship is Hawaii's largest grappling tournament with more than 700 competitors from five Hawaiian Islands, California, Nevada and Guam.
Rocky Planesi Represents IWFFA at Mixed Martial Arts Fundraiser

Congratulations to IWFFA’s Rocky Planesi on his dominating victory over Clayton “Kazu Boy” Nohara of BJ Penn Training and Fitness Center during their 185 lbs. bout at the Fight for the Kids fundraiser on April 4, at the War Memorial Gymnasium on Maui. Rocky’s next bout is scheduled for June 13, against Zane Kamaka on the Up & Up 2 card. In related news, Izak Moniz along with other IWFFA students will be participating in Maui Jiu Jitsu’s Keiki Showdown Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Tournament. Please show you support for our Island Warriors.
Carlson Gracie Jr. teaches Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Seminar at IWFFA

IWFFA hosted an awesome event for Maui jiu jitsu athletes at the recent Carlson Gracie Jr. seminar. Carlson Gracie Jr. is a legend in the sport of Brazilian jiu jitsu and had an abundance of knowledge to share with participants. IWFFA is grateful for his visit. IWFFA also thanks Carlson Gracie Maui, Maui Grappling Academy, and Brazilian Freestyle Jiu Jitsu for coming out to support the event. Special thanks goes out to Ka'ai for cooking all the great food that fed everyone after the seminar.
